EARLIER:

A fiery crash on I-75 in Gordon County, Georgia Tuesday morning claimed three lives and sent 2 others to the hospital.

A tractor trailer in the northbound lanes collided with a car, and then crossed the median and veered into the southbound lanes, striking 2 other tractor-trailers and 2 passenger vehicles, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).The accident happened during rush hour near mile marker 308.

Here's what the GSP told us:

..a tractor-trailer traveling north on I-75 was involved in a collision with a Hyundai Sonata (No injuries). After impact, the Sonata traveled off the right shoulder of I-75 NB and the tractor-trailer crossed the median into the SB lanes, causing collisions with two other tractor-trailers and two passenger vehicles (Toyota Corolla and a Ford Ranger). The Ford Ranger caught fire. A total of six vehicles were involved, with three fatalities, two occupants transported to hospitals, and two occupants who were not injured.

Right now, authorities have not identified the victims, pending next of kin.

It's the second deadly crash in 2 days involving a tractor trailer on I-75.

On Sunday near East Ridge, authorities say a tractor-trailer plowed into 5 other slowed vehicles, causing them to catch fire. 2 people died in that wreck, and authorities are charging the truck driver.

We're working to learn more about both crashes. Depend on us to bring you updates as we get them.
